Fear Free

Do You Have a Scaredy Cat or Panicky Pooch?

Fear Free Certified

We know pets are afraid of the veterinarian—it’s just a fact of life. And while we can’t verbally communicate to your furry friends that we are here to help, we have taken a huge step to show them that we are the good guys—we are proud to say that Kittery Animal Hospital is committed to being Fear-Free!

What is Fear-Free?

he Fear-Free Program is a training course that helps veterinarians modify clinic procedures, handling and facilities to help pets feel safe and comfortable while receiving the medical care they need.

How Does a Practice Get this Distinction?

Many staff members are Fear-Free Certified and we are actively pursuing accreditation for the practice. All aspects of our hospital will be evaluated, including culture, leadership, client education, facilities, patient visits, staff training and more. Additionally, a Fear-Free Practice Certification Veterinarian will perform an on-site where they reviewed and then ultimately approved us.

We’re Here for Your Pets.

We love our clients and their pets and are proud to have taken this step. We look forward to continuing to treat your companion animals with compassionate care. For more information on Fear Free Certification, click here.

AAHA

We Are AAHA Accredited!

AAHA

AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association, and their importance to the veterinary industry cannot be understated. AAHA is the accrediting body for companion animal hospitals in the United States, and their requirements for recognition have revealed that only 12 to 15 percent of hospitals in the United States are accredited.

Is AAHA Accreditation Required?

While AAHA recognition might be confused as the legal, national requirement for veterinary hospitals, this is not the case—animal hospitals do not have to be officially AAHA accredited before they can take care of pets. This ultimately creates a different standard and class of veterinary facilities, which many pet owners are unaware of.

For those practices that do meet these standards, their clients and their pets can be comfortable knowing that their hospital holds themselves to a higher standard and will provide more thorough, responsive, sanitary and safe protocols which benefits everyone, especially the animals.

We Are Proud to Care for Your Pets

At Kittery Animal Hospital, we have worked hard to be an AAHA-accredited practice and are proud to serve the pets of our community with the most modern, up-to-date veterinary techniques. As our promise to our clients, we will continue to stay at the forefront of veterinary care by maintaining our AAHA accreditation!
