All boarding and grooming clients must have reservations prior to coming to board or be groomed to insure that we have the space and the time for your pet. This is especially important during holidays and school vacation weeks. You should plan to call for all prime holiday vacation weeks at least 1 to 2 weeks ahead, a Fifty dollar deposit will reserve your space and will be applied to your boarding invoice at the time of your pets check out. Prime weeks are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, February school vacation and April school vacations. The two weeks prior to Labor Day and Columbus Day weekend are among our more busier times.
For the safety of all our boarders and grooming clients, we require proof that all pets have current vaccines and and be on monthly internal and external parasite prevention. All chronic medical problems need a history as well. We will need written proof of current vaccination status if you or your pet are not clients of Kittery Animal Hospital, before they are boarded or groomed with us.

Your pets health is important to us. Our established clients can request that annual vaccination and routine exams be done while boarding or grooming with us. Please request this with your reservation and confirm it when you check your pet in. From time to time emergencies and scheduled daily appointments may prevent us from getting to your routine vet care and it may have to be rescheduled as a regular appointment. We do strongly recommend that all annual wellness exams be scheduled with a veterinarian to insure that we discuss everything that is going on with your pets health.
NOTE: Kittery Animal Hospital has professional staff available 7 days a week to care for the boarding and grooming animals should your pet become sick or present any signs and/or symptoms of illness during the stay, we do not have overnight staff coverage.
We are able to give oral medications that your pet may needs during its stay. Please bring the medication with you in original container, along with directions on how it is to be given. If you are not a client at Kittery Animal Hospital we will need to have a brief discussion on the reason for the medication so that we can be on the look out for any problems while your pet is staying here with us. There is a additional charge for medication administration per day.
Special needs animals such as diabetics, seizure watch animals, and multiple chronic issues with medication administrations will require "boarding under the hospital medical supervision" and a previous medical history about their condition. These cases must be scheduled and seen in by one of our veterinary technician staff members. Boarding will be charged at a different rate, 'boarding under medical supervision' is charged out at 40.00 per night. All current medical history and medications must be present at intake, please allow 15 to 20 minutes for this to happen, ideally we should schedule these special admits before the day of arrival, a signed estimate and permission to treat will be required and your pet will not be allowed in group activities.
We can cater to your pets special dietary needs. We have experienced pet food nutritionists on our staff to help give just the right diet for your loved ones. We currently feed our boarding dogs Hill's Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and our boarding cats Science Diet Adult Maintenance. Animals with special needs diets are no problem for our trained staff. Please weigh your pet on the way in and out so we can be sure that their dietary needs match the level of activity they experience while here for any future stays.
Please label the food with your pet's name and feeding instructions. Please bring individually bagged portions for each required feeding for the number of days your pet boarding.
